Colin Easthope, MACP Practicum Student

I am a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student at Yorkville University, working toward completing my Registered Counselling Designation. I am thankful to be working as a practicum student under the supervision of the professionals at Shuswap Clinical Counselling Clinic. Through my work as a school teacher with a certificate in inclusive education, I have learned the importance of establishing a safe, stable environment where people can feel comfortable being their authentic selves.

I appreciate that everyone comes to counselling with a unique cultural identity and personal preferences. Through a person-centred therapeutic approach, my goal is to work collaboratively with clients to help them identify and use their strengths to achieve the positive changes they seek.

In my personal time, I enjoy spending time with my wife, three children, and dog. We love getting outside and enjoying the great activities the region has to offer, such as hiking, skiing, and biking. I have a passion for music, and you may find me performing my songs at our community’s wonderful coffeehouses or farmers’ markets.
