Alison (Ali) Henry, MACP Practicum Student
I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology through Yorkville University and am grateful for the opportunity to support individuals as a practicum student under supervision.
My counselling approach is holistic and client-centred, with a deep respect for the unique wisdom each person carries within. I am passionate about supporting individuals who are navigating grief, loss, and life transitions, particularly in the areas of death, dying, and bereavement. I also work with clients experiencing challenges related to depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress. As a hospice volunteer, I value the power of presence, compassion, and creating a safe space where clients can feel seen and supported during life’s most tender moments.
My professional background includes training in theology, ecology, and yoga instruction, which continues to inform the way I support the integration of mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. I draw on scientific meditation techniques and Eastern philosophy to help clients reconnect with their inner knowing and sense of peace within.
Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy hiking, spending time in nature, and being with my husband and our two daughters. I find joy in the simple things—quiet walks, animals, and the grounding rhythm of family life. I am honoured to be walking alongside those who are ready to move toward healing, meaning, and connection.
