Alison (Ali) Henry, MACP Practicum Student

I have completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) through Yorkville University and am a Certified Solution Focused Practitioner Level 3 (CSFP-L3), currently awaiting my Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) designation. I work with adults, couples, and children, offering a holistic, client-centred, and solution-focused approach grounded in a deep respect for the unique wisdom each person carries within.

My work is also informed by existential perspectives, creating space to explore questions of meaning, purpose, and how we relate to life’s inevitable challenges. I am passionate about supporting individuals who are navigating grief, loss, and life transitions, particularly in the areas of death, dying, and bereavement. I also support clients experiencing challenges related to depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress.

As a hospice volunteer, I provide vigil support through the dying process, valuing the importance of presence, compassion, and accompanying individuals and families in a conscious and grounded way. I integrate mindfulness and meditation practices into my work where appropriate, supporting clients in developing awareness, grounding, and a deeper connection to themselves.

My professional background includes training in theology, ecology, and yoga instruction, which continues to inform the way I support the integration of mind, body, and spirit in the healing process. I draw on scientific meditation techniques and Eastern philosophy to help clients reconnect with their inner knowing and sense of peace.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy hiking, spending time in nature, and being with my husband and our two daughters. I find joy in the simple things - quiet walks, animals, meditation, and the grounding rhythm of family life. I am honoured to be walking alongside those who are ready to move toward healing, meaning, and connection.
